A team of Surrey Coaches has been invited to lead this event, focusing on the Principles of Head Building. What are you aiming to achieve with each and every bowl you play? No, it’s not always trying to end up by the jack! Do you always consider the advantages and disadvantages of playing each hand or type of shot? What are strategically placed covering bowls?
Surrey Coaches will help!
Numbers of attendees are strictly limited to sixteen – it’s ‘First Come First Served!’ Coffee will be available before the class starts promptly at 10am. Lunchtime sandwiches will be served, the bar will be open. A fee of £6 approx. (dependent on numbers) is payable in cash on the day; Surrey Coaches don’t come for free!
Please contact Sylvia without delay if you wish to participate.

Do you understand the basic duties of a marker?
Can you efficiently and accurately carry out measures?
Help is at hand to guide you through what is straightforward, but only once you know!
An Ember team will help you for the usual charge of nothing!
Numbers are not limited for this event, however, it is essential to book a place so contact Sylvia if
you want to be involved.

On Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th March we are having some work done on extending the paving in front of the clubhouse.
The path to the clubhouse will be open as will access via the ramp.
The access to courts 1, 2 and 3 is likely to be through the gate on court 3, depending on the stage of the work.
Please take care and bear with us while we get the work done. It should be completed in 2 days.
A fine Sunday evening looking out onto the terrace and bowling green at Ember Sports Club. Looking forward to a summer refreshment sitting out here watching the evening league…
Lovers of live jazz had a treat last Saturday when Louise Marshall led the Ember Big Band in our clubhouse – a great opportunity to shake off the January blues.

A great event coming up – “In The Footsteps of Shackleton”, a lunch followed by a talk on Shackleton’s adventures by Martin Thomas. To book email emberjane2@btinternet.com or phone 07768 632684. Bookings open January 2nd and are £15pp.
Please take are at Ember Sports Club in this icy weather. The white painted edge of the veranda is very, very slippery in the wet and the icy conditions. Please avoid stepping on it. It is best to use the ramp to enter the clubhouse from the tennis end. The paths around the club may also be slippery so be very careful.
The tennis courts may be icy too – if the conditions allow and you do decide to play, please note this is at your own risk.
Take care, stay warm and safe
The new windows at the bowls end of the clubhouse have finally been installed and are looking great. Roll on the new season (and the good weather!).
