Some great games tonight for the final rollup of the season, plus an unexpected, but friendly, pitch invasion during the match (see picture below)!

A great night of quizzes, food, raffles and a talk on the women of World War I.

Surrey Advertiser Feature about Ember playing host to the Surrey Women’s 2 Wood Singles Competition.
Hot Stuff As Ember Play Host
Unfortunately we lost 26-51 (18-20 & 8-31) at Weybridge skipped by Charlie Souter and Chris Ions. This league looks like being very competitive and will be quite a challenge for us this year. Every team has won a match and at least 6 of the 7 teams have already lost a match (possibly all 7 after yesterday’s matches).
We managed an excellent 19-13 victory at Oxshott, skipped by Bob Campbell to give us a perfect start of 3 wins and no losses. West End and Oatlands Park were also unbeaten in the top division prior to yesterday’s matches. Well done Dennis, Malcolm, Dave and Colin.

Ember chasing crown
The successful run in this prestigious competition ended when the Ember rinks came up against Cuddington in the quarter-final. Having done so well to be level pegging with two ends to go the match finally went in favour of the opposition. Well done to all who played in the various rounds and many thanks to Ray Croucher for organising and captaining the matches.
